Living in Westridge, Edmonton
Ravine Living Above the River Valley
Westridge is a small, established community in west Edmonton, set between two ravines. Patricia Ravine runs along the north and northeast, Wolf Willow Ravine along the south, and the southeast edge overlooks the North Saskatchewan River valley. 170 Street is the western boundary.
Access is mainly through Wolf Willow Road, so there's very little through traffic. Almost every home is a detached house.

Is Westridge a Good Fit for You?
Westridge tends to work well if you want:
- Ravine and river valley surroundings
- A quiet street with very little through traffic
- A detached home on a mature lot
- An established, tucked-away community
It may not be the right fit if you want a newer home, a condo or schools within the community.
What I'd Watch Out For
- Limited access. Wolf Willow Road is the main way in and out, which keeps the area quiet but means most trips use it.
- Home age. Most homes are several decades old. Budget for the roof, furnace, windows, electrical and plumbing if they haven't been updated.
- Poly-B plumbing. Polybutylene water lines were used in many Alberta homes built from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s. Ask the seller and have your inspector check.
- Ravine lots. Look closely at grading, drainage, retaining walls and slope stability, and ask about any restrictions near the ravine edge.
