Living in Jamieson Place, Edmonton
Established Family Homes Beside the Henday
Jamieson Place is an established west Edmonton community bounded by Anthony Henday Drive to the west, Callingwood Road to the north, 184 Street to the east and Lessard Road to the south.
Most homes were built in the 1980s and 1990s. It's named after Colonel F. C. Jamieson, an Edmonton lawyer, First World War officer and member of the Alberta legislature.

Is Jamieson Place a Good Fit for You?
Jamieson Place tends to work well if you want:
- A detached family home on an established street
- An elementary school inside the community
- Fast Henday access
- A settled, established neighbourhood
It may not be the right fit if you want a brand-new home or a low-maintenance condo.
What I'd Watch Out For
- Age of major systems. Most homes are several decades old. Ask about the age of the roof, furnace, hot water tank and windows.
- Poly-B plumbing. Polybutylene water lines were used in many Alberta homes built from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s. Ask the seller and have your inspector check.
- Henday noise. Homes on the west edge, closest to Anthony Henday Drive, can hear more traffic.
- Dated interiors. Price out the updates you want before you make an offer.
