Living in Ormsby Place, Edmonton
Houses and Townhomes Beside the Henday
Ormsby Place is an established west Edmonton community bounded by Anthony Henday Drive to the west, Callingwood Road to the south, 178 Street to the east and 69 Avenue to the north.
Most homes were built in the 1970s and 1980s, with the rest in the 1990s, so it's a fully built-out community with mature trees and established streets.

Is Ormsby Place a Good Fit for You?
Ormsby Place tends to work well if you want:
- A choice of row houses and detached homes
- An elementary school in the community
- Fast Henday access
- West-end shopping and recreation nearby
It may not be the right fit if you want a brand-new home or river valley views.
What I'd Watch Out For
- Age of major systems. Many homes are several decades old. Ask about the age of the roof, furnace, hot water tank, windows and electrical.
- Poly-B plumbing. Polybutylene water lines were used in many Alberta homes built from the late 1970s to the mid-1990s. Ask the seller and have your inspector check.
- Henday noise. Homes on the west edge, closest to Anthony Henday Drive, can hear more traffic.
- Townhome condo documents. Review the reserve fund study, fees and any special assessments before you commit.
